Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account to use team features, we collect your name, email address, and organization details. Solo users who work offline are not required to create an account.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage data to improve the Service, including feature usage patterns, crash reports, and performance metrics. This data is not tied to individual users.

API Request Data

Clockout processes API requests locally on your device. We do not store, log, or transmit the contents of your API requests, responses, headers, or environment variables to our servers. For team workspaces, request data is synced between team members through our servers using encryption in transit.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain the Service
Enable team collaboration features, including real-time workspace sync, organization management, and permission controls
Process payments for team subscriptions
Send transactional communications related to your account (e.g., invitation codes, billing receipts)
Improve the Service based on anonymous usage patterns
Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data Storage and Security

Account and organization data is stored on servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel. Solo offline mode stores all data locally on your device. We have no access to locally stored data.

Data Sharing

We may share information with third parties only in the following circumstances:

Service providers who assist in operating the Service (e.g., payment processors, hosting providers), bound by contractual obligations to protect your data
Legal compliance when required by law, regulation, or legal process
Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with prior notice to affected users

Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymous usage data may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form.

Export your workspace data at any time

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
